Right of First Refusal Bill
- Duane opposes AB 470, known as the Right of First Refusal Bill (aka ROFR). This is a bill that was lobbied hard to pass by the utility company lobby for our state. It would give the right of first refusal on new power generations to only existing companies. Consumer organizations say that this would lead to higher electrical prices for all consumers in Wisconsin, and possibly have a negative impact on employment in industries that depend on large use of electricity such as Waupaca Foundry. Duane’s opponent, Kevin Petersen was a primary sponsor of this bill, which passed the Assembly, but fortunately has not passed the Senate at this time.

Duane supports AB269 which would have banned communist China (or other adversary nations) from buying our farm and timberlands. The Assembly leadership has failed to move this bill forward for a vote.

Wisconsin needs legislation that matches 23 other states that have banned biological males from playing in females sports.
